Hardik Pandya

Hardik smashed four sixes and a four to score a total of 28 runs in the 10th over of Baroda’s innings, bowled by Tripura spinner Parvez Sultan.

Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is currently playing for Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The 31-year-old right-handed batsman, who played a big role in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 title win in June this year, scored 47 runs off just 23 balls for the Krunal Pandya-led side during the match played against Tripura at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Friday (November 29). He came in to bat at number 4 and during his stay at the crease, he hit three fours and five sixes.

Four of those five sixes were hit by him in the same over. In the 10th over of Baroda’s innings, he hit a six off the first, third, fourth and sixth ball of Tripura spinner Parvez Sultan and a four off the fifth ball.

Hardik, who has also previously captained India’s T20 team, bowled a total of 28 overs in that over and brought his team closer to the 110-run target. However, he was unfortunate and missed out on a half-century and was sent back to the pavilion by MB Mura Singh off the third ball of the 11th over. Hardik, who was last seen playing for India in the four-match T20 series against South Africa earlier this month, has been in great form in the ongoing premier domestic T20 tournament.

He started the tournament by scoring an unbeaten 74 off 35 balls against Gujarat on November 23 and then scored an unbeaten 41 off just 21 balls in the next match against Uttarakhand.

In the last match of SMAT for Baroda, Hardik scored 69 runs off just 30 balls and helped his team chase down the target of 222 runs against Tamil Nadu.

Apart from his batting, Hardik has also impressed with his bowling in the ongoing edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and has picked up two wickets in the four matches he has played so far.

With 231 runs in four matches, Hardik Pandya is second in the list of highest run-scorers in the ongoing edition of the premier domestic T20 tournament.
